So earlier today I had a small conversation with a friend of mine via text. Brittany tells me, "So I experienced my first electrical shock today while plugging in my computer. It's a very monumental moment in my life so I thought I'd share." I said that getting shocked is crazy fun, but she didn't agree. Shame on her.
That got me to thinking though. Growing up I remember going to the penny arcade and going to the "Electricity is Life" shock machine. You'd hold on to these two metal rods as the machine would send electricity through you. I thought it was great fun. The last time that I recall doing this was during Grad Night 2001. Tim and I were walking back to the bus around 6 am and we were dead tired. I told him about the machine and we decided to go give it a whirl. I don't know if that was a good idea because we were pretty juiced and wide awake on the ride home, or at least for a good part of it. Everyone else was a sleep. Six Flags Magic Mountain also used to have a type of shock game. It had something to do with Uncle Fester, but they got rid of it. From what I've heard, Disneyland also modified their machine so it doesn't really shock you anymore, but I'm not sure about that. Sad day if it is true.
Also, some random memories about stringing up the old christmas lights and getting shocked entered my mind. I was just 10 or so when I first got shocked while getting the lights ready to put up. How could you not enjoy times and experiences like those? Oh those were the days...
