In the End Do You Bend or Break?

Ok, so since I will be dressing up tomorrow, I'll give the last "hint".  If this doesn't help you, then there's no hope for you anyway.

All Things New Again...

So yesterday I try something new and put contacts in my eyes.  That was weird.  It took me 5 tries to get it in my right eye and 2 for my left.  I don't really know the word to use expect for weird to describe my experience.  It DOES feel like something floating around in my eye.  Especially after I blink.

After around 3 hours my left eye started to bug me, so I rub it a couple of times.  After doing this for the third or fourth time, I open my eyes and don't feel one of my contacts.  I start searching all over the place, including my eye (hey, you never know!), and even enlist others in my search.  It was all for naught though.  All that effort of scrounging around on the floor of Denny's only to come up empty handed.  Oh well, such is life. I still have one (yellow) so that will have to do.  I got them from the UK so I just can go and get one real quick.  For some strange reason they were cheaper for me to buy them from the UK then here in the States.

When I wake up this morning my eyes still feel a little weird, but relatively normal.  After taking a warm shower my left eye still feels a bit different, so I though, hey I'll just check again.  lo and behold, my contact was wedged way up back in my eyelid!  They said you should put them in for only 4 hours the first time, to get used to them.  Mine was in there for over 12 hours.  At least I don't feel scarred for life.

Another Brick In The Wall

Well it looks like this is going to be how my jacket is going to be.  I don't anticipate working anymore on it, save for a few snips with some scissors.  Not the best, but good enough for who it's for.  Many thanks to my sister Lori who has been helping me out with it and other various parts of my costume.

If You're Friends With P, Then You're Friends With Me...

This weekend I got to spend the time with some friends that I haven't seen in a bit.  Mike and Cari live out of state (Utah) and were down for the weekend so we had a little get together Friday night.  We had a good time eating, reminiscing, eating some more and just talking about life and what's going on.  Michael and Cari and dear and cherished friends of mine.  Mike being one of the Bro's along with Jon, helped us enjoy many a day and night, even at times at our own expense.

Mike said that anyone who was there was invited because either they are loved, or their spouse is loved.  Me not having a spouse... I knew I was loved... If, at least, only by default of his statement.

Friends really do make the world go round.

One Way or Another...

Sometimes I get the feeling like I want to write people off.  This probably because I think they don't really care one way or another, due to how they act, or in some cases, don't act.  Most of the time this is just a passing thought, rarely do I actually do it.  Maybe it is because I have hope in people, whether it's merited or not.  I always have been a person to put a positive spin on the whole "what if...???" scenario.  It doesn't always turn out that way, but you can't control everything.  Then again, maybe I don't write them off because I've never been a real big fan of writing anyway...

Coming Back for More...

I forgot to post this earlier.  Here you go

The Music, The City and The River of Mud...

So sometime last week I was talking to a friend of mine and she said something about beignets... oooooo soooo good!  At leas the French got SOMETHING right....  I mean, even I can't talk bad about Beignets!

She was making them for a friend who is going to serve a mission in the south.  That got me thinking about the memories I have from New Orleans, some more well known than others, but good memories all the same.  Besides the Beignets, I was remember things about the French Quarter

the Natchez (from what I remember it's the only true steamboat left in the U.S.)

Mother's Restaurant, home to the famous Po' Boys.  (FYI Po' Boys were the best!  One of the only things that I enjoy eating that has cabbage [cabbage is what circus workers and carnies eat])

Oh and the Aquarium of the Americas, that was fun for us kids.

I do consider myself lucky and blessed to have been able to visit a number of parts of this country with my family.  Many sweet memories were made on the two cross country motor home trips.

Maybe That's Why She's Insane....

I know Halloween is just under 3 weeks away, but I feel like that isn't a whole lot of time to finish what I got to finish.  I guess that's the downside of doing a costume that requires a lot of time and work.  Not just that, but people expect you to be social and what not.  I'm no hermit by any means, but I have stuff that NEEDS to get done!  On that note, I just finished watched a 17 min video on how to apply the makeup that I'm going to use for my costume.  Me, as a guy, well I don't feel right watching or knowing about this much make up crap.  I was also told that I need to be careful... Now that will be weird when I actually go up to the counter and buy the stuff.  It's a good thing I don't really care.  I'd probably give myself weird looks too if I were those people.  I still need to buy socks and shoes as well. After that I think I'll be done with my spending problem for Halloween.

Black Holes and Revelations

So a couple of months ago, actually more like  half a year, I got my own office out at work.  Besides putting 3 of those fake trees in my small office, I also brought some of my Mayan stuff from my mission.  A couple of days later a co-worker pulls me aside and informs me that the boss man asked him if I was a devil worshiper.  He saw my mask and got a little suspicious.

So apparently my Mayan paraphernalia says that I'm a devil worshiper.  All the same, I like my masks and junk.

There's No One Left To Sing Along With You...

Oh and here is a picture of part of the costume, but it's still unfinished mind you.

Doesn't It Make It Seem Like Suddenly?

Question:  Is it a bad thing if you walk into a fabric/arts and crafts store and an employee or two recognizes you and then ask how your project is going?  Oh and you're also a guy, by yourself, going for yourself....

Good Intentions...

So the other day while at work I was going through some of the billing.  On one of the invoices we billed for what was called "Gopher Control."  I didn't think anything of this because I see it weekly on the billing, so no big deal right?  Well I look at the time sheet that the worker turns in so I can double check and verify that the invoice is correct.  The dude didn't have his job down as Gopher Control, instead he put down "Killing Gophers."  How PC is that?  It made me laugh so I thought I'd share.  The end....

Thank you for the records...

Well I normally won't post this frequently, but today isn't like any normal day.  A few of my friends know that today, being October 1st, is a day of joy, of happiness and needs to be celebrated.  The NHL is back!  Just in case those of you weren't aware.  Here are some pictures to commemorate this glorious occasion.

Go 'Hawks!

I guess that this means the other hockey jerseys that I had in storage can now be taken out and worn again.
